This kind of stuff confuses me as much as it angers me. I know it's been going around for awhile but it shouldn't be old news until it stops.

It doesn't matter that it's 3 weeks cos even if it's 3 weeks, the Goldman guy is still at it so it's better to remind people of it via art memes... plus... as quoted, "I know it's been going around for awhile but it shouldn't be old news until it stops."

I think why it bothers me... is that no one is really outraged. Or at least giving the appearance of outrage. Dude got plaguerized, and the response is everyone cracking jokes about it. It gives an air of "we don't really care, ha ha." And not "What the fuck is going on?" And to be honest, there is a lot of plaguerism going on in the clothing industry right now. A friend of mine's design was ripped off recently by a major chain store, and no one is freaking on that one -- in fact, other than myself and my friend I don't think anyone has noticed.

I dunno about everyone else, but I did this meme because I am outraged. I mean, I didn't do it as a means of a joke but more of as support for those who DID get their designs ripped off, that's why this meme has that link to Miketyndall.com that is a specific issue of Goldman ripping off people. It's to make people notice and if your friend got the same deal, put it out, make people know the problem.

Personally, I'm hoping this meme get as big if not bigger than the Batgirl meme so that people will definitely know the big brouh ha ha about Goldman and not just the art community people of the net but basically everyone. That's what I'm thinking this meme is doing.

I dunno. I don't think it's showing the outrage. It just seems like another Internet goof to me. In my eyes, It shows no more outrage than "Mr. T Ate My Balls" or Chuck Norris jokes. I just prefered the direct approach that everyone was taking previously.

pretty much what eisu (darkoff) said. I mean, it ALWAYS outrages me. This kind of shit isn't new, we all know that. People do it all the time. But like you said the news is 3 weeks old. You can't hold onto rage for 3 weeks. Although, the developments when I read them still piss me off. He's brought lawyers into this now trying to shut people down for "slander." (isn't the web a form of print? libel maybe? also, isn't it only slander if it's untrue?) Of course we're pissed off. Satirization is an outlet for anger just as much as just straight out ranting. And it's usually more succinct.

At this point I think the aim is to spread this shit like a virus, and hopefully Goldman gets shut down, and maybe just MAYBE other people will think about it a little more and not fucking do it. But I doubt it. People are ignorant and selfish and all the rage in the world isn't going to change that.
